Rotenberger Joins TPH Nashville

TPH-Nashville and the Nashville Jr Predators are pleased to announce the hiring of Teddy Rotenberger.  Rotenberger will be joining the team this summer coming after recently graduating from the University of Alabama – Huntsville (UAH). In his time at UAH, Rotenberger competed four years with the UAH Chargers Hockey Team (NCAA DI).

Prior to his collegiate career, Rotenberger was an alum of the Jr Predators program.  As a player, Rotenberger exemplified the student-athlete credo; he was a team captain annually as a youth hockey player and an outstanding student in the classroom.  He captained the Thunder to appearances in the 2013 and 2014 USA Hockey National Championship  Tournament, winning a Bronze Medal in 2013 (U16 AAA).  His junior hockey career had multiple stops in the North American Hockey League including Topeka, St. Louis and Shreveport before beginning his NCAA career in Huntsville.

Rotenberger is no stranger in coaching with the Jr Predators and TPH; he has been involved in the Spring Prospects for the last few years and has received very strong feedback from the players and families he has worked with there.

Within TPH-Nashville, Rotenberger will serve as the Assistant Director of Hockey Operations – scheduling, coordinating and executing programming for the Center of Excellence and other Nashville based events.  In the Nashville Jr Predators Organization, Rotenberger will be the Head Coach for the U14 and U16 AA teams and will also be the Assistant Mite Program Director.

“I’m so excited to have Teddy joining our team!  His Character, work ethic and hockey experience will make him a valuable add for our student athletes and their families” said Steve Jennings, Director of Operations for TPH Nashville.

Jordan French, Jr Predators Tier II Program Director added “Teddy will be a great add to our coaching staff and will help us grow our AA teams and the Mite Program, continuing to strengthen the organization from top to bottom.  I look forward to working with him in the coming season.”

Please join us in welcoming Teddy to our team!  The Nashville Junior Predators just announced the rescheduled tryout dates for the 2020-21 season.

The TPH-Nashville Center of Excellence is also taking registrations for the coming academic year.

Youth League Distribution

This year, 76.5% of the draft pick were selected from a team associated in a league rather than an independent.

Help Us Shield Our Communities

TPH and the Center of Excellence offer a selective environment for the aspiring elite athlete.  Part of the selective environment is mentoring our athletes to become better versions of themselves. A big piece of this growth includes serving the communities!

We are launching the Shield Our Communities fundraiser. TPH students across the country will be raising money to purchase medical face shields made by our good friends at Sparx Hockey.  The goal is to provide these shields to organizations in need in each local community.  Students will have the opportunity to safely deliver the shields to the selected local organizations.  Organizations like Police Departments, Fire Departments, Nursing Homes or the like.

TPH is proud to partner with Sparx, a company who has repurposed their facilities to make these shields for first responders and essential workers across the country!  Please help us achieve our goal and make a difference in the communities we call home! Together we can make a difference, in our communities and across the nation!

Our targeted goal would allow us to distribute over 1,000 face shields, distributed evenly, to the following local organizations:

  • Atlanta | Emory University Department of Public Safety
  • Colorado | Elizabeth Fire Station 271
  • Detroit | Dearborn Heights Police Department
  • Grand Rapids  | Spectrum Health
  • Huntsville | Huntsville Hospital System
  • Indianapolis | Eskenzie Health of Indianapolis

TPH NASHVILLE WELCOMES AUSTIN KEISER AS THE DIRECTOR OF GOALTENDING

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Austin comes to us from Milwaukee and has been coaching goalies for 12 years all over the country. He played prep hockey at the Kents Hill School in Maine. After playing two years of Junior Hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Keiser played NCAA Division III for SUNY – Potsdam and later, Western New England University. He concluded his playing career in the ECHL for his hometown team, the Atlanta Gladiators. After his playing career, Keiser served as Assistant Coach at his Alma Mater, Western New England University (NCAA). Next, Keiser became the first Assistant Coach for the inaugural season at Trine University (NCAA). Keiser helped build the first ever junior team in Milwaukee and was the Associate Head Coach for the Milwaukee Power in the NA3HL. Additionally, Keiser comes to TPH with goalie coaching experience from Pro Crease in Connecticut (4 years), SAP in Atlanta (7 years), and USA Hockey. He served as the Director of Goaltending for Milwaukee Jr. Admirals for the last two seasons. “Through my experience as a player and coach, I strive to bring the best goalie package to TPH and Nashville Jr. Predators as the new Goalie Director for these programs.”

“We are really excited to have Austin join us here in Nashville in a full-time position,” stated Jr Predators Tier I Director Keith Rowe. “This is the first time we have had a full-time goalie coach focused solely on TPH and the Nashville Jr Predators. Austin will work with all our Jr Predators teams and will be very hands-on doing things like individual video review, attending games and providing real-time feedback, conducting goalie only on-ice sessions, attending weekday and team practices, and conducting group Zoom presentations for our goalies. We are excited that we are providing these long-overdue resources for all of our goalies.”

“Austin is a hard working and experienced goalie coach,” said USA Hockey Manager of Coaching Education, David Caruso. “He has a great passion to continually learn and develop his coaching skills. He is a patient teacher and brings relatedness to the athletes he works with.”

Austin will be residing in Nashville and once the current battle with the Covid-19 virus is over he will run free goalie-only sessions which all Jr Predators and local Nashville goalies will be invited to attend. Austin will also host a Zoom presentation for all our goalie families. We will send a separate invite to all our goalie families which will include RSVP directions. We hope this note finds everyone safe and healthy.

Total Package Hockey Cancels Jr Predators/Tri-State Spartans AAA Invitational and Suspends Access to Center of Excellence Campuses

Nashville, Tenn. – Total Package Hockey (TPH) announced this morning it has cancelled the Jr Predators/Tri-State Spartans AAA Invitational set to take place in Nashville this weekend, March 13-15. In addition, TPH has taken precautions with the TPH Center of Excellence as well, requiring all student athletes to work from home.

The health and well-being of our student-athletes and their families has always been a top priority and with the current coronavirus (COVID-19) circumstances, the decision to take these precautions has been made.

All seven of our operating Center of Excellence locations have suspended access to campus interaction. Considering the unfortunate situation, we are glad that our student-athletes will not fall behind academically. Although student-athletes are not permitted on our campuses, they will easily be able to maintain their course work through our online academic program.

As the coronavirus situation evolves, TPH will put safety and well-being first and follow the advice of medical professionals and USA Hockey.
