TPH High Performance Weekend

The 2009 TPH High Performance Weekend is an educational hockey weekend for parents and players providing answers on how to some of the difficult questions players are faced with when looking to move on in hockey. Players and their families will be surrounded with quality coaches from NCAA, CIS and Professional Hockey, keynote speakers on a variety of topics; sports psychology, sport specific condition, sport nutrition and much more. Kim McCullough, owner of Total Female Hockey (www.totalfemalehockey.com) and former Captain of Dartmouth University and CWHL Player will share her knowledge, experiences and expertise throughout the weekend through informative parent and player seminars and interactive off-ice conditioning sessions helping players prepare for their season and decisions that lie ahead.

What is the TPH High Performance Weekend? This educational program is a perfect opportunity for parents and players to have their hockey question answered by professionals in the game. The program will begin on Thursday evening with a Showcase Game played by current NCAA, CIS and Professional players. Following the game parents and players will attend a Meet and Greet where the showcase players will tell their hockey stories and mingle with families to answer any questions or concerns players may have regarding their futures in hockey.
For the remainder of the weekend the High Performance Players will participate in Position Specific On-Ice Sessions for forwards, defence and goaltenders along with a team practice. Players will attend off-ice testing and training sessions and team building sessions. Their will be Parent and Player Seminars covering a variety of topics specific to girls hockey. Each team will be coached by a CIS, NCAA, Professional or Jr. Coach and will participate in a tournament format series of games on Saturday and Sunday. During games, players will be evaluated by coaches, scouts and hockey professionals, providing each player with feedback on their play over the weekend. All players will attend an individual Exit Interview with their coaches to recap the weekend and review player’s evaluations.

Who is the TPH High Performance Program suited for? This program is designed for elite players (A and AA hockey, 1994-1992 birth year) looking to advance and play at a higher level.  Whether a player is looking to play Midget AA, Jr. or move on to the NCAA or CIS this program provides answers to the questions they will face.

We are excited to offer such an interactive and educational program for parents and players. Our goal is to expose these talented hockey players to experts in the field of women’s hockey by surrounding them with NCAA, CIS, Professional and Jr. coaches and allowing them to showcase their skills and personalities through the many interactive events over the weekend.
